【Description】

In Tibetan Buddhism, Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) appears in many forms. The union form with Yeshe Tsogyal represents one of the most profound Vajrayāna expressions of the complete union of wisdom and skillful means.

Yeshe Tsogyal is regarded as one of the principal holders of Guru Rinpoche's treasure (terma) teachings and an embodiment of enlightened wisdom. This union form symbolizes:

• The inseparability of Upaya (skillful means) and Prajñā (wisdom)

• The unity of emptiness and great compassion in ultimate realization

• The central non-dual principle of the Vajrayāna path

This form is especially emphasized in the Nyingma tradition, appearing in terma lineages, Guru Yoga practices, Guru Rinpoche's Eight Manifestations, and related Dzogchen instructions.

While the single form of Guru Rinpoche is widely used for everyday practice, blessings, protection, and wisdom, the union form expresses a deeper tantric level of realization, making it a rare and highly significant subject both in practice and in serious thangka collecting.
